The Spartus Full-Vue – 1948-1960Pedestrian and unremarkable. The Full-Vue is typical of the parade ofcheap “TLR’s” of the fifties. The deco-ish paint and textured finish do little to hide its mundane soul. This particular Full-Vue contained a roll of Kodacolor-X.
Dogs do smile. This one is delighted to be part of this photo session. He’s looking at his master and thinking “isn’t this great ?”

He’s happy that he’s not wearing the cowboy hat they placed on that poor pumpkin.

Every kid goes through the “I can stand on my head” phase.

The pumpkin without the hat.

Camera and photographer unknown

The photos below are from an exposed roll of film sent to me unsolicited.

1940’s I’d guess

Photographs from the 1940’s always make me wonder about “The War.” Was it over ? Was it brewing ? I try to find answers in the people’s faces.

A common thread is our devotion to children. Two adults make sure Johnny doesn’t drown in a foot of water. Right after this photo was taken Johnny screamed “Leave me alone !!”

It was common to leave film in your camera for months. In some cases, film was left for eighty years.
