You really never know when your last day of fishing for the year will be. It's not the kind of thing a sane man plans. It just happens.

Despite all indications to the contrary (ice on the boat launch ramp, frostbite, snow,) you hope for just one more day. Admitting it's over is admitting defeat. But there comes a time when you know it's over.

It was the day after Thanksgiving this year. It rained hard all day but the smallies were willing and so were we. We hoped that we'd get out another time but it wasn't to be. The December 6th snowstorm put and end to the 2003 fishing season. I fight winter, winter always wins.
